Sending Test Messages with Signal House

Signal House enables users to live-test messaging directly from the platform—perfect for confirming setup, testing flows, or validating campaigns in real-time.

This guide walks you through everything you need to know about using the Send Message functionality—whether sending a basic text (SMS) or rich multimedia message (MMS).

📬 Send SMS

To test a basic SMS message, navigate to Send Message > Send SMS from the left-hand menu.

Step-by-Step:

1. Choose an Active Number

Select an “Active” number from your account (i.e., purchased or ported-in, assigned to an active and DCA-elected campaign).

2. Enable or Disable Group Messaging

  • Group ON (slider pink): Sends the message in one thread with all recipients.

  • Group OFF (slider grey): Sends individual messages to each recipient.

3. Add Recipient Numbers

Type or paste one or more numbers (E.164 format). Remove a number by clicking the icon.

4. (Optional) Add a Callback URL

Enter a Status Callback URL to get webhook-style delivery updates (success/failures, error codes, timestamps).

5. Write Your Message

Craft your SMS content in the message box.

Tip: Add opt-out instructions like Reply STOP to unsubscribe and any required disclaimers (if testing campaign content).

Send & Track

Click Send Test Message. A successful send will show the cURL request on the right-hand side:

To review status and delivery breakdowns, visit Message Logs.

Send MMS

Want to test a GIF, video, image, or file? Use the Send MMS option in the side menu.

Key Differences:

  • You’ll see the same interface as SMS, but with Media URL and File Attachment options.

Media Options:

  • Media URL: Link to publicly hosted image, video, or GIF (e.g., hosted on AWS, Imgur, or YouTube).

  • Attachments: Upload directly from your system.

✅ Tip: MMS file sizes vary by carrier but stay under 500KB for best results.
